Dr. Narendra Hulikal, President APASO

Dr. Narendra Hulikal

President, APASO

It gives me great pleasure to address you as the President of the Andhra Pradesh Association of Surgical Oncology (APASO). I am deeply grateful for the confidence you have placed in me and consider it a privilege to lead an organization committed to the advancement of surgical oncology in India.

Over the past three decades, I have had the opportunity to work across various institutions and now serve at SVIMS Hospital, Tirupati. These experiences have strengthened my belief that collaboration between practicing and academic surgeons is essential for delivering equitable, evidence-based, and compassionate cancer care to our patients.

APASO was founded to create a common platform where surgical oncologists can share knowledge, exchange experiences, and collectively uplift the standards of cancer treatment. Our aim is to foster professional growth through continuous learning, training workshops, and research collaborations, while also supporting initiatives that extend quality cancer care to every corner of the country.

As we move forward, I invite each member to participate actively in APASO's programs — be it academic meetings, mentorship initiatives, or community outreach. Together, we can create a strong network of professionals dedicated to excellence, ethics, and empathy in cancer surgery.

Let us work hand in hand to make APASO a symbol of unity and progress in surgical oncology, ensuring that our combined efforts translate into hope and healing for countless patients across India.

Dr. Prasanth Penumadu

Secretary, APASO

Dear Members and Colleagues,

It is my privilege to serve as the Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Association of Surgical Oncology (APASO). I extend my warm greetings to all our esteemed members and well-wishers.

APASO stands as a bridge between practicing and academic surgical oncologists — uniting diverse experiences, ideas, and innovations for the common goal of improving cancer care in India. As we move forward, our focus will be on strengthening professional collaboration, supporting young oncologists through mentorship and training, and creating more opportunities for academic exchange and research participation.

With our growing network, APASO aims to organize educational programs, workshops, and conferences that will promote skill development and multidisciplinary understanding among cancer specialists. We also seek to build stronger regional and institutional connections to make cancer care more accessible and equitable.

I invite all members to actively engage with the association — to share knowledge, participate in our initiatives, and contribute to the collective progress of our field. Together, we can make APASO a vibrant and inclusive community that reflects the strength and spirit of surgical oncology in India.

With warm regards,

Dr. Prasanth Penumadu
